Happy Hair Days with Heather!

Happy Hair Days with Heather!

Let me just start off by saying, my lifestyle is hectic. It’s loads of fun and I love every minute of what I do but juggling the sometimes crazy demands of being a radio presenter and media personality, can take its toll on your time. I am all about using my time wisely, so any life hacks or solutions that I can implement to make things easier is an added bonus.

I am also not one of those that take 2 hours to get ready – my sleep is way more important to me, and when your day starts at 4am, you don’t really have time to mess around with hair and make-up – right?

Sorbet Drybar Dunkeld to the rescue! These guys are truly fabulous, and this store is one of the busiest Sorbet Drybar stores I have ever seen. You know what they say though, if you want something done, get a busy person to do it.

A welcoming smile, a cappuccino with a homemade biscuit and the attentive service are just some of the reason’s I keep coming back – but also the ease of purpose. Located really centrally in the Dunkeld West Centre, with free parking (yes it all helps) a wash, dry and style in 40 minutes or less make my heart glad.

The hair care products that they have recently launched in all the Drybar stores are great too – I love the Repair and Protect Shampoo and Conditioner, which I use at home, as well as the dry shampoo which has saved my life on more then one occasion. The little cans are perfect to pop into my handbag and I am never without dry shampoo for a last-minute engagement or event that may pop up.

I also adore the ‘Feed Me Fabulous’ hair masque that I use at home – about once a month and usually on my day off. I pop it on and then clingwrap my head for extra penetration and leave the masque on for about an hour or so. Not the sexiest look I have ever rocked, but the results are well worth it. Wash out well, shampoo, condition and style – voila! I have been lightening my hair since I was 16 and it can get rather brittle, so any help to keep me looking sleek and sexy is appreciated.

PS – the products are also available at Clicks, so you don’t have to buy them at a specific Drybar store, but I usually just grab mine when I am having my hair done.

I also love having my nails done while I am there – of all the nail salons I have visited, the team at Sorbet Drybar Dunkeld are the fastest, and the most precise when it comes to application of polish and nail art. In fact, they will do your nails while you are having your hair done, so quick in and quick out. By now I am sure you have gathered that I like things done speedily and precisely…

Spring is here and that calls for cool styles! Because my hair is really short I have discovered a cool knack for styling and making that style laaaast! I do quiet tight curls, which slowly drop over the next few days, leaving me with a style for a few days, that winds up in a rather epic ‘bed head’ look which I quite like.

A blowout (including washing and styling) costs R 195 and considering that I can respond to emails and schedule Instagram posts at the same time, makes it well worth the price, and you will usually find me in store at least once a week, or ahead of a function.

They also do make-up in store (yes Sorbet has their own make up range too!) so you can have your make up touched up or done from scratch for an event, after having your hair done.
